LOSP Protection

When pine is treated, it is impregnated with a chemical solution which prevents deterioration by insect or fungal attack and provides a long term resistance to decay. The complete range of Woodhouse Weatherproof® products are H3 LOSP (Light Organic Solvent Preservative) treated to be resistant against termite and fungal attack. The LOSP preservation process ensures the original dimensions and strength of each Weatherproof product are sustained through and following installation.

The organo-biocide LOSP preservative used in the treatment process is a combination of azole fungicides to resist against decay, and permethrin insecticide to protect from termite attack and other wood boring insects.

We recommened that all end cuts, notches, rebates, and drill holes be resealed with an in-can preservative primer such as Tanalised® Enseal Clear Timber Preservative AND re-primed prior to installation to prevent moisture ingress into the timber substrate.

Every piece of Woodhouse Weatherproof® is labelled with a product tag identifying the LOSP treatment process followed during manufacture.
