How to Install Woodhouse Perimeter

Before you Install

  • Prior to installation and finishing, all mouldings should be kept in a well ventilated, dry area that is not in contact with the ground or exposed to the weather.
  • The Woodhouse Perimeter range is made from solid timber and the moisture content of each moulding will adjust in accordance with the EMC (equilibrium moisture content) of the air.  Subsequently, pressure adjustments to pneumatic finishing guns may be necessary depending on the current weather conditions.
  • Ensure that mouldings are stacked flat and supported every 600mm.

Installation

  • Ensure that the necessary and appropriate personal protective equipment is worn when working with all timber products to guard against airborne wood dust, fibres and coating residue.
  • The Perimeter range can be cut, nailed and installed like other timber mouldings.
  • When cutting, use a sharp tungsten tipped finishing saw and change the blade as required
  • For a typical pneumatic finishing gun, a pressure of 120psi for 15g fixings is recommended but this may need adjustment depending on the current weather conditions.  When using hammer-driven fixings, select a gauge appropriate for the moulding thickness but do not exceed 2.5mm as a rule.
  • Prepare for final painting by filling any imperfections and nail holes with a suitable wood filler and then sand to a smooth finish prior to applying the painting system.
